About

John Zugarek resides in Luzerne County, where he spent the majority of his life, growing up in Mountain Top and graduating from Crestwood High School. Among the first in his family to attend college, he attended Luzerne County Community College before transferring to Wilkes University, where he graduated with a degree in History. John then went on to earn his Master’s in History from East Stroudsburg University before attending Lehigh University. Enthusiastic about sharing knowledge, John works as a History instructor at Northampton Community College, Luzerne County Community College, and Marywood University.  

Helping others has always been one of John’s core values, which is reflected in his role as an educator and his public service and volunteer work. John gives back to his community as a member of the White Haven Borough Council, co-chair of the Stop the I-80 Tolling Task Force, and as the President of the White Haven Lions Club.  

John and his wife of 14 years, Denise, live in White Haven with their dog Wookie. John is an avid fan of music and sports, supporting local teams like the SWB Railriders and the WBS Penguins.
